We collaborated with the Tennessee Titans to bring fans the first NFL mural to incorporate augmented reality technology! The Titans-inspired 135’ x 26’ mural in downtown Nashville called “Tennessee Tough” was created by Nashville-local muralist MOBE. Since fans were not allowed in the stadium, the Titans wanted to create an experience that engaged both fans and Tennesseans with the team outside the venue. Our team came up with an interactive AR Mural that combines creativity, art, technology and sports.
Augmented Reality to Inspire a Community
The first of its kind web-based AR experience in the NFL drew inspiration from overcoming challenges and the desire to create change, as the city of Nashville has experienced through the devastating March tornadoes, pandemic and social justice dialogue. When viewed through a phone, the AR animates the player, highlights quotes from significant Tennessee figures (John Lewis, Tennessee Williams, Wilma Rudolph and more) and ends with the words “Tennessee Tough,” which is the team’s brand message for 2020 and beyond. The AR experience also incorporates the names of all 95 counties in Tennessee.
“Tennessee Tough” is located at the corner of Sixth Avenue South and Korean Veterans Boulevard, across the street from Music City Center.
